Ghanaian Drumming and West African Dance Experience
Experience the rhythm and energy of Ghana through a hands-on drumming and dance session. This is more than simply watching a cultural performance. You will have the opportunity to learn traditional Ghanaian rhythms, play different types of Ghanaian drums, and take part in a lively West African dance session guided by a local instructor.
Start with an introduction to traditional Ghanaian drumming. Your instructor will teach you some well-known rhythms and drumbeats while showing you how to use different Ghanaian drums. You will learn the basic techniques, follow the rhythm, and gradually play along with the group.
If you would like a more energetic experience, continue with a West African dance session. The choreography is taught step by step, making it suitable for beginners as well as travelers with previous dance experience. You will learn traditional movements and then combine them with the sound and rhythm of live drumming.
You may also learn Kpalogo, a traditional dance and rhythm associated with the Greater Accra Region. The combination of drumming and dance creates a lively and engaging way to experience Ghanaian culture and traditions.
A Flexible Two-Hour Cultural Experience
The activity lasts two hours and can be adapted according to your interests. You can choose to divide the session between drumming and dancing or focus entirely on one activity.
